Water productivity using furrow and drip irrigation in hybrid maize

Agriculture is the economic sector that consumes around 70 % of total water extracted globally, considering itself a victim its own inefficiency. The present work was oriented to look for irrigation alternatives allow greater productivity water. trial carried out at Faculty Agricultural Sciences, Technical University Machala, Ecuador. amount applied corn crop through furrow and drip evaluated. treatments were: irrigation, superficial subsurface 20 cm. had surface area 450 m2, in completely randomized block experimental design with three repetitions. control regime tensiometers installed each treatment. volume dry grain yield by furrows 3,484 m3.ha-1 9,175 kg.ha-1, 1,452 10,200 it 1,237 10,181.2 kg.ha-1. treatment 2.63 kg.m-3, 7.02 kg.m-3 cm 8.23 being highest productivity.
